Exam Information
Come in to Riverdale Laser Center for an evaluation to help you determine if you truly are a good candidate for laser vision correction. People interested in laser vision correction should consider the following:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have had a stable eye prescription for approximately one year
- Be in good overall health with good eye health
- Have no signs of glaucoma or cataracts
Laser vision correction can treat varying ranges of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. When you come for your free evaluation, please bring your glasses or prescription and your eye doctor will determine which refractive procedure would offer you the greatest benefit.

WavePrint Technology
No two eyes are the same. Like your fingerprint, your vision is unique. Until recently, a patient's laser vision correction procedure was based on diagnostic technology similar to that used for the prescription of eyeglasses and contact lenses. New Wave Print technology produces a more detailed map of one's vision, providing you and the doctor with a more individualized approach to laser vision correction. The WavePrint map is derived from technology first developed to correct distortion of light waves from space, allowing researchers to accurately view images of stars and planets. This technology is now used to measure light waves as the travel through your eye, providing a precise analysis of your vision. In New York, WavePrint technology is now available at the Riverdale Laser Center in Manhattan and the Bronx. We are one of the few centers in the world equipped with this technology.
